After finding this purse at a vintage purse sale, I decided to cover the worn outside fabric with this gorgeous three dimensional silk rose fabric. Because I could not use my sewing machine on an already constructed purse, I had to do all the sewing by hand. The structure is sturdy and based on a gold metal framework. I left the internal vintage lining intact. It features an "HL" logo which stands for Herbert Levy, an award winning purse and shoe designer from the 20's to the 40's. The inside lining is gold rayon faille. I found the vintage heavy gold chain at another sale to create the handle.
